Ep 42 - I'm Going On a Tangent

Sometimes you need to get to the point and just get the information you need. I wish some people at work would understand that. But when it comes to catching up with friends, the winding path is almost always more enjoyable. This month we discuss what we are watching, listening to, thinking about and working on and take many tangents to other topics. So grab something to sip on and maybe a snack and let’s take a trip.

Ep 41 - What Was I Thinking

It’s been a minute since we’ve had an episode so there was a lot to talk about this time around. Everything from making clone armor to baking, decorating for Halloween to making a magazine. We managed to get some stuff done, that was on our to-do lists and some that was not, and have plans for what we’d like to accomplish next time.

Ep 40 - Prioritizing My Traumas

Eugene is building a house! Well, he hopes he is. With inflation and interest rates really high right now, it’s not the best time. But sometimes you just have to bite the bullet. In other news, Cy is joining the show! This is our media catch-up episode so we’re talking Ahsoka, Star Trek: TNG and tons of stuff that isn’t mortgage based!

Ep 39 - Too Hot to Care

Despite the temperature in Texas hanging around the 104, 105 mark, Eugene managed to still get several things on his to-do list done. Sure they were mostly inside where it was nice and cool, but they still count! Meanwhile in Canada, the elevated heat has put a damper on the mood and the to-do lists; especially those items that require being outside.

Ep 38 - The Rough Road to Retirement

We’re watching movies, listening to music and thinking about stuff. Stuff like retirement which isn’t too far down the road. And after the last few weeks some of us have had, it can’t come fast enough. This month we catch up on all of the media we have been consuming and discuss how we are working towards retirement and the milestones to get there.

Ep 37 - Creative FOMO

This month we do our updates from the previous two months. Ray worked on his shop, Kris worked on her book and Eugene worked on his proton pack. Plus a bunch of other stuff. Also, is it OK to deny yourself something in order to get projects done? We don’t have an answer, but we talk about it.

Ep 36 - Moving On Up

It’s time to sit down and discuss what we’ve consuming media wise. It’s also time to discuss what’s on our minds. While Ray and Kris would love to move to England, or Harry Potter World, same thing really, Eugene may be planning a move to his “retirement” home sooner than he planned.

Ep 35 - Course Complete

Cue the Final Fantasy victory music! Ray finished his course work while Kris made some headway on a blanket and Eugene knocked out a few small projects. I gotta say it was a good… month. The group makes plans for June but tries not to over do it; we’re being kind to ourselves.

Ep 34 - Meet Your Heroes

This month is our media catch up episode. We’ve been watching all of the big shows out right now; The Last of Us, The Mandolorian, Picard: Season 3. But this month Eugene gets to talk about a bucket list item he got to check off by meeting a hero of his. The saying goes, “don’t meet your heroes.” Perhaps, you should meet them, as long as they are worth being called a hero.

Ep 33 - Work Life Balancing

Gen Xers and Millennials epitomized the idea of the “side hustle;” turning a passion project into a second job that one day might replace their primary job. But Gen Z has pushed that aside in favor of work life balance; and we couldn’t agree more. This month we catch up on what we’ve been working on and discuss how it’s OK for a hobby to remain just a hobby.
