Ep 50 - Im Not Going to Help You

It’s time once again to catch up on all of the creative projects we’ve been working on. It’s also time to start getting ready for our favorite time of year, Halloween. On this episode we discuss shops, costumes, and other long running projects. We also discuss what it’s like to grow up with little money and how that effects us, even to this day, as makers. And then go down a rabbit hole about death and what to do with our stuff. Fun times!

Ep 49 - Maybe We Should Do a Parenting Podcast

Guess which episode it is? Forty nine. But you knew that because you read the show tittle and didn’t accidentally get your notes swapped around like Eugene did. So instead of our regularly scheduled show where we check in on the projects we are working on, we’re doing another episode where we discuss what we are watching, listening to, thinking about and doing. Spoiler alert! Deadpool & Wolverine and parenting.

Ep 47 - Its Not a Project Until Ray Bleeds

Cy is under the weather but the show must go on. This month Kris, Ray & Eugene discuss how their personal projects are coming along and how being injured sucks when trying to be creative. But it just comes with the territory for some of us because apparently unless Ray gets injured somehow, it doesn’t count as a project in the Andrew household.

Ep 41 - What Was I Thinking

It’s been a minute since we’ve had an episode so there was a lot to talk about this time around. Everything from making clone armor to baking, decorating for Halloween to making a magazine. We managed to get some stuff done, that was on our to-do lists and some that was not, and have plans for what we’d like to accomplish next time.

Ep 39 - Too Hot to Care

Despite the temperature in Texas hanging around the 104, 105 mark, Eugene managed to still get several things on his to-do list done. Sure they were mostly inside where it was nice and cool, but they still count! Meanwhile in Canada, the elevated heat has put a damper on the mood and the to-do lists; especially those items that require being outside.

Ep 37 - Creative FOMO

This month we do our updates from the previous two months. Ray worked on his shop, Kris worked on her book and Eugene worked on his proton pack. Plus a bunch of other stuff. Also, is it OK to deny yourself something in order to get projects done? We don’t have an answer, but we talk about it.

Ep 35 - Course Complete

Cue the Final Fantasy victory music! Ray finished his course work while Kris made some headway on a blanket and Eugene knocked out a few small projects. I gotta say it was a good… month. The group makes plans for June but tries not to over do it; we’re being kind to ourselves.

Ep 12 - Texas Froze Over

As we record this month’s episode, Texas is in a terrible situation. Power outages, water rationing and below freezing temperatures has made it difficult to be creative. It also doesn’t help when your tools have issues. This month we discuss how tools and our relationship with them can suck the life out of your creative spirit.

Ep 5 - Giving Yourself a Break

While creating is a joy and brings energy to most of us, it also taxes us and can leave us feeling wrung out. But our worlds are also filled with more than just our creative endeavors. Family, work and everything else can drain our creative spirit making it hard to pick up a brush or start that next sentence. This month we’re discussing how sometimes it’s good to take a break and recharge our batteries so we can go back to our creative projects with renewed vigor.
